FAQs

What are your hours?

My availability is currently limited to Fridays 10:00am - 7:00pm.  (Last appointment starts at 5:45pm)

Do you take insurance?

No. However, I am happy to provide a monthly bill containing the information you will need to seek reimbursement from your insurance company. To find out exactly how much you will be responsible for, I recommend contacting your insurance company before our first session to ask about reimbursement rates for an "out-of-network mental health treatment with a Psychologist." If you can also provide them with the billing codes "90837" and "90847."

Better, is a service that can help you understand the process and improve your chances of getting reimbursed. You’ll provide a picture of your bill and they will help you submit the claim for a small portion of the reimbursement.

Do you offer a sliding scale?

No. Given that my practice is part-time and therefore small, I do not offer a sliding scale at this time.

How long will it take?

It really depends; everyone’s circumstances are unique to them. The length of time depends on your desire for personal/relational development, your commitment, and the factors driving you to seek therapy in the first place.

I see that you specialize in war-related trauma, does this mean you work with Veterans?

While I have experience treating Veterans with PTSD, due to a potential conflict of interest, I do not see Veterans enrolled in the VA Healthcare system at this time. Thank you for understanding.

Do you offer EMDR?

No. I do not practice EMDR, but I am happy to offer you a referral to another provider or discuss the treatment approaches I use for clients with a history of trauma.

Why shouldn’t I just take medication?

Medication can certainly be effective but it cannot solve all issues by itself. Sometimes medication is needed in conjunction with therapy. Our work together is designed to explore and unpack the problems you are experiencing and expand on your strengths that can help you accomplish your personal goals. If you are interested in learning about whether medication is right for you, I am more than happy to provide you with a referral.
